    • Regeneration of Vernacular Houses in Western Towns and Villages in China

      2016(1):46-49. DOI: 10.13791/j.cnki.hsfwest.20160108

      PDF 4.41 M (2493)

Abstract:When building human settlements, western areas of China with very fragile ecology and underdeveloped economy face with more difficulties and have to deal with harsher constraints than other areas do. In order to develop sustainably during rapid urbanization, ver nacular houses of wester n r ural areas should explore appropriate technologies based on local climate, economy and social situations. There are two ways for appropriate technology, one of which is to turn modern technology into the local, and the other is to optimize traditional technology according to times. Two cases of Jianfuqiao Village in Yinchuan City and Yingmaili Village in Turpan are introduced in this paper, designed by Green Architecture Research Center of Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology.

      PDF 6.35 M (2520)

Abstract:On the basis of analyzing the current situation and trend of village planning in China, it is found that the study of the public policy attributes of village planning and its application to the village planning is a new direction of current research field. Deem the prevalent phenomenon that the implementation of multiple rounds of the village planning in many places is due to a lack of the understanding of public policy attributes of the village planning, but also as a continuous process of revision for the public policy of the village planning: the policy objectives, policy content, implementation and guarantee measures. This paper takes the public policy cycle as the research logic, and gives a panoramic analysis of Zhuhai’s village planning and construction, then summarizes the experience of it, and discusses the reasonable ways and model of village planning and construction.

    • Discussion on the Connecting Rural Planning and Practices

      2016(1):56-60. DOI: 10.13791/j.cnki.hsfwest.20160110

      PDF 2.01 M (2105)

Abstract:Although China was an agricultural society in long-term and countryside was the main body of the society, it is still important to do rural planning and rural construction in the background of the current era of urbanization now. From the current view, connecting type of rural planning should become the main working mode of contemporary China’s rural planning. This mode of rural planning with both inheritance and innovation, has the advantages of continuing national context, realizing organic renewal of countryside, low cost and so on. In adopting this planning mode, planner should respect the internal space texture and history of a village, learn more humanism, use a more small scale of planning that is suitable for the village, and pay close attention to the rural social and economic transition and so on.

    • Comparison and Thinking of the Walkability Measure Methods on Urban Built Environment

      2016(1):67-74. DOI: 10.13791/j.cnki.hsfwest.20160112

      PDF 3.41 M (3784)

Abstract:The walkable level of the urban built environment plays an important role in promoting green and healthy way of walking and improving the quality of daily life. The research of walkability measure methods are very popular in both domestic and foreign academia. According to the main factors influencing the walking behavior, we compared the methods of walkability measure in three aspects: perception of walking environment, walking spatial accessibility and the social and cultural factors. It’s found that these three methods have both advantages and disadvantages. It suggests that it should carry out the deepening research on the improvement and promotion of walkability measure methods, classify the research population precisely and improve the accuracy of measure according to the characteristic of domestic built environment and the behaviors of residents. Meanwhile, considering the subjective feelings of pedestrians and the social and cultural factors, it should construct a comprehensive walkability measure method and evaluation system for the urban built environment which includes walking accessibility, convenience, comfort, safety and other aspects.

    • Scenario Planning for Traffic Development —A Case Study of Hangzhou

      2016(1):75-80. DOI: 10.13791/j.cnki.hsfwest.20160113

      PDF 3.36 M (2326)

Abstract:Growing concerns have been raised on traffic congestion. Researchers propose that optimizing land use can provide a way to solve the traffic congestion, but it is hard to prove accurately if it has a certain effect on the practice of urban planning. In this research, based on the layout and development intensity of residential and commercial land, three scenarios are built. The operation of trip generation, O-D matrix and trip assignment are proposed to approach the distribution of traffic flow and speed. The comparison of traffic flow and speed is proposed to reach some conclusions: (1) the degree of improvement of each area is different in each scenario, and especially that the traffic congestion has not been changed in Shangcheng District and Xiacheng District; (2) controlling the urban layout and development intensity can ease traffic congestion within a specified area excluding the downtown.

      2016(1):81-87. DOI: 10.13791/j.cnki.hsfwest.20160114

      PDF 7.86 M (3980)

Abstract:Under the background of globalization and industrialization, the disordered city construction and aimless copying reflect the decline of city features. Constructions which adapt to the local natural environment and urban functions, and inherit the historical context of urban form regional characteristics are of great significance. This paper summarizes the concept of urban form regional characteristics elements, with the examples of Langzhong, Leshan, Yibin and Dujiangyan to explore the perception of urban form regional characteristic and build the content framework of the overall urban design based on the urban form regional characteristics. With Hejiang’s new district in Luzhou as an example, the paper excavates the urban natural geographical features, controls regional characteristics of design from the macro level to micro level, and provides certain help for the shape of the sustainable development of urban form and for the same type of overall urban design.

      2016(1):88-94. DOI: 10.13791/j.cnki.hsfwest.20160115

      PDF 7.91 M (3214)

Abstract:Underground space of central area is in the closed rock system. And there are many differences between underground and ground buildings in design and form. According to the f ive elements of urban images identif ied by Kevin Lynch, and by comparing the ground buildings and urban design method, this paper focus on studying the urban design method of double-decker city in central area in order to eliminate the lost feeling in underground street and enhance the systematic development of underground space. Then it proposes that underground space design should correspond to the ground city including “areas: theme design for space partition”, “nodes: underground space nodes creation”, “mark: peak point and center of underground space”, “boundary: interface design of underground space” and “Path: guiding system and visual system” to form stereoscopic correspondence for underground and ground space, build up the complete “double” city image system, as well provide services for the whole city.

Abstract:In the era of “international style”, the construction of glass curtain wall is f lat, regular and uniform. However, contemporary glass curtain wall modeling abandons the “international style”, and shows extremely complicated trends. Starting from this phenomenon, the paper first outlines three development trends of modeling 3D, texture diversity and material composition, and then analyzes the relations between construction logics and modeling trends. In the end, the paper puts forward three construction logics of ecological construction, aesthetic construction and technical construction.
