      Abstract:Vernacular architecture in the Chinese context is often misunderstood as a binary? notion as against the “urban,” the “modern,”or the“western.”The case study discusses on the? general discrepancy between the “inside”and“outside”of vernacular architecture, or between? its new program and assigned traditional fa?ade.It argues that in contemporary China,a? collaged“vernacular?architecture”is inevitable,making the static“style”out of question.The? contemporary vernacular architecture will need“build the site,”reconfiguring the general? context of space-making from scratch.By systematically creating new local characteristics,? architecture does not adapt itself to landscape settings but invent a landscape of its own.

      Abstract:This paper attempts to re-evaluate the feature-oriented research paradigm of? vernacular architecture, which is regarded as the architectural discourse with the“Chinese? identity”created by Chinese cultural crisis of western invasion from 19 century.When Chinese? modern cultural transformation had already completed recently,however,the feature-oriented? paradigm has also lost its rationality along with its professional attention.Thus,vernacular? architecture research paradigm should be transformed from feature oriented to problem? oriented,attach importance to the true reality and issues in rural areas,pay more attention to? the ordinary,extensive,and nondescript folk houses,and focus on the basic mechanism and? law of morphological evolution of the vernacular architecture.Finally,it’s expected that it will? provide references for future studies.

      Abstract:Professor Zhao Changgeng is an important pioneer in the fi eld of architecture,urban? planning,and landscape architecture in Bashu area.On the basis of reading the academic works? of Prof.Zhao and organizing the related oral history data about Prof. Zhao,this paper reviewed? his growth environment,learning and working experiences systematically.By studying his? academic achievements in the field of personnel training,academic theory,engineering? practice,it summarized his academic thoughts on multidisciplinary integration and linking? theory with practice.It’s found that Prof.Zhao has made outstanding contribution to education,? theoretical study of urban aesthetics,construction methods of urban landscape,the combination? of cities,architecture and landscape,and cultural conception.The purpose of this paper is to? understand and summarize Prof.Zhao’s academic thoughts,with a view to provide professional? guidelines for future studies.

      Abstract:The rural constructional development of science and technology in the 12th Five-Year special planning emphasizes that it should promote the development of the technology system in building the rural low-cost and energy-saving residential constructions.Based on the theory of the green-building scientific system,this paper studies the energy-saving effects of the new rural residence in Sichuan province.Taking the residence design of No.2 settlements in Nanlin village,Xiwai township,Guanghan city as an example,it explores the energy-saving strategies in accordance with the status quo of the rural areas in Sichuan province.

    • Urban Heat Island Effect Distribution Based on Improved NDBI of Inner District in Chongqing

      Abstract:In this paper,NDSTI and improved NDBI were derived from TM/ETM+ images of? Chongqing’inner district in 2002 and 2007.The results can better reveal the correlation laws of? spatial distribution among NDBI,NDSTI and the UHI effect level of construction land.There? was significantly stronger and wide range of UHI effect in the inner district of Chongqing in? 2002.With the expansion of urbanization,strong UHI downgraded and disappeared in the? old city,and appeared,strong upgraded in new city in 2007.Yangtze River,Jiangling River,? lakes and mountain vegetation belongs to cold island area,playing in a role in separating and? adjusting the UHI effect.

      Abstract:The decorative forms and materials selection of Hakka ancient dwellings attach great? importance to the adaptation to the environment and climate in order to reduce the damage of? wind,rain and moist to the decorative components,and prolong the service life of decorative? elements.Based on the on-the-spot investigation and analysis of the ancient dwellings in? Qiaoxi Village,it’s found that the craftsman is very useful for processing decorative details,the? decorative materials are obtained locally,the decorative patterns change due to the place and the? processing of decorativedetails are flexible.This paper analyzes and summarizes some concepts? in terms of in the modeling,process,and material application and the casue of technical details? from the perspective of environment,and elaborates the construction method of traditional?       Abstract:By reviewing related studies on landscape protection of mountain traditional? dwellings in china,this paper expounds its research progress from the necessity of the review,? the sources and analysis of the data and the analysis of the research content.It analyzes the? literature data employing the method of literature review and comparative inductive analysis.? In terms of content,it studies the different objects andm subjects of protection,as well as the? channels of raising fund.It points out that the current studies are not deep,only focusing on? the qualitative analysis,and the multidisciplinary comprehensivem research is weak.It finally? points out that the future research should be deepened,develop from qualitative analysis to? quantitative simulation,and tend to do the multidisciplinary comprehensive research.

      Abstract:With the development of new rural construction,the Mianzhu New Year Painting? Village,as a representative of the new rural area in the western Sichuan Plain, presents a? typical colorscape image.Firstly,based on the unique natural and humanism background,? this study analyzes the historical evolution of rural colorscape image in New Year Painting? Village.Secondly,through field investigation and theoretical references of color geography,it? systematically explores the current situation of colorscape image of New Year Painting Village? from the perspective of environment,plants,architecture,and folklore,thus the directional? associations between color properties and color images are revealed.Finally,it is pointed out? that regional colorscape image is a very important asset to local area,and it also proposes the? colorscape image construction methods,beautiful rural landscape line building concept and? participatory rural colorscape planning idea.It’s expected that it will promote the development? of colorscape image planning development of new rural area.

      Abstract:Eco art,as a kind of landscape planning anddesign idea,adopted the constrction method with urban ecological characteristics and artistic personality so as to avoid the homogeneity issues of urban environmental construction.Landscape Avenue is an important component of urban traffic environment,and its planning and design will directly influence the city image.The current landscape avenues in our country are mainly dominated by creating ecological characteristics and are short of space with artistic personality.How to achieve a symbiotic development of both is a big issue.This paper takes the concept,method and significance of eco art as the theoretical premise,and analyzes the landscape planning and design of Xinglong Avenue in Yongchuan,Chongqing.Firstly,it explicits the overall concept direction of ecological art in Xinglong Avenue through the art form of the“natural?beauty, ecological beauty, design beauty”in eco art.Secondly,it indicates the modification mode of eco art in Xinglong Avenue by the function creation of sustainable ecology and interesting art. It finally concludes that eco art on the one hand can enablemthe landscape avenue to be of the characteristic personality and to showcase the regional cityscape in the uniquely participating and experiencing way;on the other hand,it can enhance the traffic safety of landscape avenue so that it can achieve the purpose of traffic diversion by the unique construction form.

      Abstract:The traditional urban and rural settlements constructed under the concept of“Feng? Shui”theory are both material and intangible heritages.In order to deepen human’s understanding? about these types of heritages,UWHC proposed the concept of Cultural Landscape in 1992.? Through the mixing perspectives about substance and value,this paper analyses the traditional? space patterns of Shangli,in a bid to resume the cultural connotations of space, as well as to? present relevant historical pattern of the whole town space.It’s expected that it will provide? theoretical basis for the research and protection of traditional settlements.
