    • A Primary Study on Mountain Cities

      2014(2):1-4.

      PDF 1.75 M (2001)

Abstract:Mountain cities, as the most important carrier of human settlements, are widely distributed in China. As a kind of special city type, mountain cities have signifi cant strengths in natural resources, ecological environment, and multi-nationality culture; there are still existing problems such as the fragility of ecosystem, high frequency of natural disasters, and increasing difficulty of construction and development. Urban planning and construction in mountain cities should progress according to local conditions, and attach great importance to mountain characteristics rather than simply imitate or directly apply the planning methods of plain cities. It also should take the eco-city as the main objective, and achieve ecologicalization. Meanwhile, it should develop culture, education, medical care, public services, telecommunications, technology, and other social undertakings in order to ensure the sustainability of mountain cities.

    • A Study on the Countermeasure Frame of the Basic Public Services Equalization in Urban Fringe Area in the Context of New Urbanization

      2014(2):5-9.

      PDF 2.24 M (2511)

Abstract:The paper analyzes current situation, trend and existing problems of basic public services equalization. In the context of new urbanization, it presents the value and significance of study on the countermeasure frame of the basic public services equalization in urban fringe area. According to the model of policy process theory, the research contents and methods are established under the logic basis of identification of problems, countermeasure studies and optimization of application. And then, it designs the scientific research framework which integrates methods of boundary value, performance evaluation, linear regression and analysis model. Under the background of imbalance development of town and urban areas, the study on the basic public services equalization in urban fringe area can be used to solve the significant problems in the critical field of new urbanization problems.

    • The Establishment of Index System of Compatible Low-carbon Ecological Planning — A Case Study of Haizhu Eco-city in Guangzhou

      2014(2):10-14.

      PDF 31.89 M (2503)

Abstract:Based on a case study of Guangzhou Haizhu eco-city planning, this paper explores the methods of achieving the goals of low-carbon city planning both in master plan and regulatory plan, and proposes the concept of low-carbon city index system which is compatible with the traditional urban planning system. The compatible low-carbon city index system is hierarchically established in order to match the hierarchy of traditional urban planning system. Also, the compatible low-carbon city index system is practical in each process of urban planning, city management, project construction and operation and the approval authority of each low-carbon city index system is clearly defined. Finally, this paper concluded that the compatible low-carbon city index system is highly related to the traditional urban planning system and can be easily implemented.

    • Definition and Practice of Pedestrianization —Time-spatial Analysis of Developing Process of Pedestrianization in Downtown Area

      2014(2):20-29.

      PDF 6.92 M (2076)

Abstract:Pedestrianization is at present a definition and topic attracting great attention, while the theory and practice it belongs to is diverse. This paper tries to clarify the process and characteristics of development of pedestrianization, and provide clearer references for development of pedestrianization and pedestrian environment in urban area. It mainly adopts the method of time-spatial (T-S) comparative analysis. In T-dimension, the process of development of pedestrianization in different period is checked. And in S-dimension, it chooses pedestrianization in German and US as samples to compare differences of performance and mechanism of pedestrianization in different areas. It’s found that development of pedestrianization has experienced two transformations in history, both taking place in characters of property and spatial, consisting of two binary relationship of exclusive-public and indoor-outdoor. Meanwhile, in comparison analysis, transformation in property is more important than in spatial. Pedestrianization, as a definition with long history, has new connotation and function in motorized period. Meantime, pedestrianization is a comprehensive definition covering aspects of economy, transportation and society, not simply a strategy for urban development.

    • A Study on Planning Control Building Height of Xiaguan District in Dali City

      2014(2):30-36.

      PDF 43.04 M (1763)

Abstract:Dali is a national historical and cultural city, Yunnan tourist resort. Xiaguan district is the Dali tourism distribution service base, surrounded by hills, against the background of Erhai Lake, with a high quality external space environment. To shape the landscape of the city's image with the plateau is crucial. The city building height of Xiaguan district is one of the key factors to city style featuring. Based on research and analysis of current situation, this study firstly summarizes status basic characteristics of urban building height of Xiaguan district, secondly widely learns from the research on control method about urban building height, especially for rich natural landscape, heavy history and culture region, refines the "basic model plus correction model" for height control technology framework. Finally, by GIS technology and CAD overlay multi-factor cross sectional analysis techniques, the methodology is applied to build process of building height, for generating building height control guidance sheets and control zoning map to provide reference to the building height control for detailed planning.

    • Alley Houses Under Colonial Urban Planning — The Case of Macau, Shanghai and Tsingtao

      2014(2):37-46.

      PDF 34.39 M (1802)

Abstract:In order to explore the impact of western urban planning on the Chinese communities, three cases of Macau, Shanghai and Tsingtau are studied. It’s found that high-dense alley houses are common features in all these cities. Such neighborhood with lanes and alleys is recognized as a unique type of neighborhood in traditional residential architecture. The emergence of new types of alley houses indicates a double layer of urban structure with both Chinese and western cities in the process of transition from ‘the other’ to ‘the original’. It’s expected it will provide references for current large-scale urbanization.

      PDF 6.24 M (3679)

Abstract:With great elegance and exquisite workmanship, a site of Stone Five Sacrificial Utensils located on the south bank of Weiminglake consists of the Weiming landscape. This paper introduced the existing studies which failed to figure out the carving time, original location and the tomb owner of the Stone Five Sacrificial Utensils, dated it by comparing it with other ones, found a possible range of the tomb owner by referring to the construction history of Yan Yuan and local tombs, inferred the official title of the tomb owner by analyzing the Ming and Qing dynasties' books and records, and finally consulted the most positive tomb owner. Based on the analysis, this paper dismissed the possibility of theStone Five Sacrificial Utensils belonging to Hang Ai or the imperial mausoleum and the possibility of it built in the Republic of China, conjectured that the most positive tomb owner was MiWanzhong in Ming dynasty whose tomb was in today’s Yan Yuan and the reason why the Stone Five Sacrificial Utensils were located on the south bank of Weiming Lake was obeying the Chinese element design concept of H.K.Murphy.

    • The Form-structure Theory and Modern Architecture

      2014(2):78-83.

      PDF 1.79 M (3131)

Abstract:Emerged in 1910, the literature theory of form-structuralism is one of the important part of modern aesthetic theory. The formalists emphasized that the form factors of literature and art is independent of the content, and they have important aesthetic meaning. This kind of aesthetic theory not only promoted the modern art movement, but also affected the development of structuralism and semiotics aesthetic theory. At the same time, it also have profound infl uence on the generation and development process of modern architecture.

Then it optimizes present plan with the reasonable farming radius and then discusses the differences caused by such an optimization. It fi nally discusses the ways of enhancing the application of radius farming in rural residential layout planning.
