Abstract:The construction of large-scale cultural buildings in our country has entered a period of unprecedented high-speed development, during the process of which, a great deal of problems have been revealed. Many costly symbolizing cultural buildings have run counter to the direction of urban culture’s development, deviating from their original urban roles. Through analyzing the causes of these problems, this paper hopes to provide referable proposals for the corresponding solutions.

Abstract:Through an interpretive reading of the conceptual design of Yuxi Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, this paper draws a conclusion on the process of a rational design and discusses the effects of various restriction especially the urban spatial pattern on design, which, the action per se, becomes a useful practice that reflects the causality between the condition of site and the creation of architecture.

Abstract:Wit h t he g row i ng globali zat ion , the urban planning practice in China today is increasingly at the mercy of hegemonic culture of the west. The indigenous culture has been placed in jeopardy and cityscapes are tending to converge. Taking Long county as an example, this paper starts with the analysis of its cultural attribute and sums up its cultural core. Abstract:Based on the field study of spatial form of Jiefangbei Commercial Pedestrian Street in Chongqing and the role analysis of its production, this paper explores the relationship between urban vitality and the urban life produced by commercial pedestrian streets in the time of global booming of capital and consumption accumulation. It points out that in the situation that capital plays a long-term strong role, it will be a long and difficult process for the discourse of diversity to be better merged into the mechanism of production of space, in order to highly fit the corresponding urban life to the demands of different roles

Abstract:Set in the backg rou nd of China's urbanization and economic development, this paper, starting from the global environmental issues, reviews on the problems of urban development in China’s developed regions for the past several decades. By taking into consideration of domestic and international theory on ecological city and practice cases, the paper proposes responding solutions to such problems. At last, taking the Strategic Spatial Planning of Qianjiang, Chongqing as an example, th rough elaborating on cit y’s industry selection, spatial structure, land use and ecological construction, the paper discusses how to find suitable ways of sustainable development for China's less developed regions.
