    • Whose strategies? Discussion on Architectural Strategy in Fast Urbanized China

      Abstract:Responding to the topic Architectural strat-egy in a jumping society by Time+ Architecture, the paper questions on whose strategies they are, and discusses five strategy-making bodies(government, real estate developer, architect, architectural re-searcher/educator, citizen)and their corresponding strategy aims and items. Furthermore, it shows value orientation for the strategy which is the author's standpoint. The paper also concludes that from criti-cal perspective the role of architect is considerable weak in fast urbanized China and deems that if archi-tects hope to change current situation, the only way is to enter the social life more positively with critical conscious.

      Abstract:Revealing the form of building construction, we can find the core is the information contained in forms. Therefore, the essence of the continuity and development of the building is transmission and evo-lution of the information that the building includes. As a bridge between tradition and modernity, knowl-edge and information are the main materials and stuff for architectural creation as well as the crystalliza-tion of humsn intelligence,. Taking vernacular dwell-ing for example, this paper clarifies the above point of view and analyzes the meaning for contemporary architectural design.

      Abstract:In this essay, the author explained the method of defining functional oning, as one of the classical design methods of city planning from the viewpoint of the juxtaposition and superposition relationships among system elements. Also the au-thor tried to introduce the concept of "superposition" opposite to "juxtaposition"in the process of defining functional area and show the pow-erful promotion brought by "superposition" to de-velop the concepts and methods of traditional defini-tion of functional area and create new juxtaposition relationships through analyzing two design cases.

      Abstract:Large-scale industrial buildings have be-come an important part of historical building being edged out, which cannot be ignored in the course of China's urbanization. There are lots of methods aim-ing to solve this problem at present; However, most of them have not acquired enough social and eco-nomic benefits, but wasted many valuable social re-sources during the reconstruction. This paper puts forward some new strategy on this question with a view to create a win-win situation for social benefits gaining and social resources saving.

      Abstract:In recent years, with the process of urbanization in China, there have been profound changes in the forms of many mountainous cities, which showed a state of alienation and opposition instead of harmonization for the relationship of city and the natural environment. Therefore, this paper presents some strategy for the present urban design of riverfront in mountainous city from two aspects of the protection of natural landscape elements and the control of urban form.

At the same time, it's good to improve the quality of interior environ-ment and reduce energy consumption of building.       Abstract:This article introduces the style of Tibetan Buddhism Zhao temples in Inner Mongolia which include Tibetan, Han and mixed Han-Tibetan style. It also summarizes the corresponding four forms of layout including Flexible Tibetan layout, regular and uniform distribution of the Han-style, the Han-style-based layout modifications and the unique combina-tion of City, Temple layout, each of which presentsits own distinctive characteristics.
