      Abstract:This article introduces the Environment-Behavior Study of Amos Rapoport and the author's research method-non-verbal communication approach, with brief comments on it. It also dis-cusses the environmental meaning, how it affects people's behavior and the relationship between the Environment-Behavior Study and planning design, as well as the Environment-Behavior Study's posi-tive influences on planning design.

      Abstract:In the contemporary architectural critics in China, the tendency of Sociologism has been very common. Critics have been turning to social reviewers, even journalists, in whose perspective the ontological architectural thinking is absent. That is just one of the reasons for the lost of Critique in Architectural criticism, which is developing beyond the architectural noumenon. This paper beginning with the criticism situation of architecture in China since 1990, analyses the deep end of architectural theory development and the absence of the ontologi-cal thoughts in critique philosophy.

      Abstract:As an important part of Confucianism, the code of etiquette culture impacted deeply on the tra-ditional life of society, including living environment, which was advocated by the rulers of the past dynasties. Jiangnan traditional residential environ-ment in between hall and study, being representa-tives of the formal and informal dwelling space, showed different value orientation and did the con-trasted deed: serene and easeful ,systematic and personalized, study design, thereinto, embodying "people-centered"thought and some personal style, especially can be seen as the successful early ex-ample of Chinese traditional field of interior design.

      Abstract:This paper bases on the current domestic education of the artistic design of the architectural interior environment, combining the construction of corresponding professional core courses and the prac-tice of teaching reform in the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning, Huazhong University of Sci-ence and Technology. It summarizes and points out the characteristics of a comprehensive university's environmental artistic design major and what should be faced with by reviewing the exploration of the theory and framework of teaching, articulation curricula, the evaluation of quality, the practice, ap-plication and the editing of teaching materials. Furthermore, it puts forward the ideas of the con-struction for the series of courses and the practice of teaching in the future development with a view that the construction of the artistic design of the architec-tural interior environment will play a catalytic role in promoting the personnel trainign .

      Abstract:Comparing design education on tectonics with traditional design education on drawing from three design stages:investigating, designing and peo-duction making, this paper aimsw to contrast their dif-ferent cognitive and expressive methods on treating architectural design and point out the shortage of the Iatter, as well as explain the importance of the former for architecture majors to understand the architec-tural space and realize the performance of materials. In the end, it put forwards that the combination of the two is the key to improve the current teaching quality of architecture.
