Studies on the Strategies of Public Transit and Pedestrian Oriented Space Reconstruction ofContemporary Urban Center
SUN Tongyu,ZHAO Yuling
Abstract:
In high-density urban center, easing the conflict between pedestrian and traffic and constructing pedestrian oriented spaces have attracted much attention. This paper takes Lujiazui fi nancial district as a case, by the analysis of development history, spatial structure and fi eld research, fi nds that the spatial problems of Lujiazui lie in three aspects: motorized space pattern, main traffi c road cutting urban space, and the separation of public space nodes from the pedestrian system. Meanwhile, the paper compares TOD model with a group of public transit and pedestrian oriented urban center cases by graphical and space syntax analysis, and proposes the framework of space reconstruction in urban center, including constructing pedestrian oriented transportation structure, enhancing the support of the public transport for the pedestrians, and shaping the public space that can stimulate diverse city life. Based on this, a set of space reconstruction strategies are proposed, for instance, vertical traffi c system strategy, station hall strategy, and visible pedestrian main node strategy, which provide ideas for the construction and transformation of Chinese urban center.
