Through a detailed analysis of a public library designed by Spanish architect Juan Navarro Baldeweg, this paper discusses a design method begin with a “transcendental space”. To achieve the desired space effect, the architect paid great effort handling the city relations, flow organizations and space atmosphere, which inspired us both in the methods and operations.
