In the process of emerging, exploring and continuous developing during 15th to 18th Century, the spatial axis of European traditional gardens had passed through a period from simple to complex, and from isolated to integration. Through deep analysis of the innovative and typical garden cases from Italy in 15-16th, France in 17th and UK in 18th, this paper concluded the relationship between axis form and function, axis and architecture space, vision and closed boundary, followed by the development trend of landscape element.It tries to analyze the organization of the axis space for a variety of cell spaces and garden elements in transmutation.
