This paper discusses the subject from two aspects: place making and building design. For the place making, the paper takes the Santa Maria Church de Canaveses for example, as it takes the metaphor of the Athen Acropolis according to the research. For the building, this paper on one hand analyses the architecture plan, facade and even threedimensional perspective to extract the A-B-A prototype, on the other hand analyses the typical U type of Siza’s design. Furthermore, the paper traces the origin of these classical style from the works of Alvaro Siza to Adolf Loos, Le Corbusier, Andrea Palladio and all the way to the classical architecture, and make comparisons.
