The traditional urban and rural settlements constructed under the concept of“Feng? Shui”theory are both material and intangible heritages.In order to deepen human’s understanding? about these types of heritages,UWHC proposed the concept of Cultural Landscape in 1992.? Through the mixing perspectives about substance and value,this paper analyses the traditional? space patterns of Shangli,in a bid to resume the cultural connotations of space, as well as to? present relevant historical pattern of the whole town space.It’s expected that it will provide? theoretical basis for the research and protection of traditional settlements.
