hospital buildings are considered in the sense of the linkages interweaving inside and outside .With the metaphor of interventional therapy which is a medical concept, “intervention” is used to review the changes of these linkages in hospital updating as a new epistemology. Update activities “intervene” in five aspects of linkages including urban, space, behavior, functions and time, for the space-time continuous integrity of hospital building. In addition, as a update method, “intervene” based on how hospital functions link to urban and with each other, redefine these relations through coordinating urban pattern, organizing flow lines, integrating function, teasing space structure and timing construction. As a result, upgrading the overall hospital system is accomplished.
