Chen Qigao is one of the founders of building thermal, creating the theory and methodology of building thermal control under nature ventilation in southern China. The proposal of thermal insulation calculation theory for building envelope structure, the determination method of boundary conditions, the selection of thermal insulation performance and the thermal insulation improvement of impounded roof and air layer thermal insulation reflect that Mr. Chen’s technological thoughts are climate-oriented and thermal observation based and that heat cooling conditions, material performance and reasonable combination are applied to the largest extent to improve indoor thermal environment.
