Abstract:Due to the particular climate and topography as well as materials and structures, it’s necessary to conduct an analysis of landing layouts of Chongqing traditional hillside buildings. At present, many problems have emerged in the design of elevated grould floor buildings. As a result, current landing layouts can’t meet the requirements of development of mountain cities in the process of urbanization. This paper, based on the theory of macro ecological architecture, regards hillside buildings and its environment as artificial ecosystems and aims to maintain the dynamic balance of ecological system. It takes the occupants of buildings as the subjects of the artificial ecological system so as to seek the new design strategies in terms of architecture and environment , energy and material circulation, creating an open ground floor space and adjusting the microclimate of elevated areas.
