Urban park design is one of the important courses for the undergraduate students of landscape architecture. With the development of the urban park, some new ideas and methods have taken on the park design, which is worth reflections. Taking the students’ work winning first prize of 2011 university student design competition of CHSLA as an example, this paper introduces the whole teaching process, from the preliminary analysis to conceived conception, and from initial design to detail design, puts forward the emphasis for the various stages in teaching based on the characteristics of urban park design, and makes a preliminary attempt for innovation of the teaching idea and method.
