将城市联系网络区分为产业联系网络和信息联系网络,分析湖北省16个市州间网络联系空间特征,从城市发展活力、城市功能分工和城市经济韧性三个角度出发,通过中介效应模型分析城市网络联系强度对城市经济增长的影响程度与机制。研究发现:(1)产业联系网络的单中心性特征明显,而信息联系网络则相对均衡,甚至多个中小城市的网络参与程度较强。(2)垂直方向上的产业联系表现为对中小城市的经济促进作用,形成规模借用效应。但同层级的水平产业联系不利于中小城市发展,形成集聚阴影效应。而信息联系网络则在垂直和水平方向上均有利于中小城市的发展。(3)城市功能分工机制在产业联系网络的经济增长效应中发挥主要作用,城市发展活力机制和城市经济韧性机制则主要在信息联系网络的经济增长效应中发挥作用。基于此,湖北省应当打造一个以武汉为主导,襄阳、宜昌为副中心,多地协同参与的产业分工体系,同时进一步强化各城市间信息联系网络的建设与维护,为城市的高质量发展积蓄基础力量。 |

Research on Urban Network Connectivity and Its Economic Growth Effects in Hubei Province |

Abstract: |
With the development of modern information technology and the transformation of resource utilization methods, traditional urban connection patterns are gradually evolving, showing new trends of multi-center, multi-node, and networking features. The study of urban network connectivity has become a hot topic at present. In the existing research on urban connectivity network, scholars mainly focus on the description of the structural characteristics of urban connectivity network and the analysis of their evolution process, but there is a lack of research on urban economic development in the context of urban connectivity network. The connection between cities includes physical and virtual connection. This study further divides the urban connectivity network into the industry connectivity network and the information connectivity network, using the industry connectivity network to replace physical connection and choosing information connectivity network to indicate virtual connection. Based on this, an analytical framework for urban connectivity network has been established. At the same time, starting from the three aspects of urban development vitality, urban functional division, and urban economic resilience, the economic effect development mechanism of urban network connectivity has been established. This is used to analyze the spatial characteristics of network connectivity between the 16 prefecture-level cities in Hubei Province and to explore the degree and mechanism of the impact of urban network connectivity intensity on urban economic growth through the mediation effect model. The urban connectivity network in Hubei Province, as an urban network system in the middle stage of development, supplements the analytical samples of urban connectivity research with the analysis of each prefecture-level city as a case. At the same time, the cities in Hubei Province have the foundation of urban division of labor and cooperation, coupled with the increasing convenience of transportation and other infrastructure and the continuous increase of government support, Hubei Province is a typical area for the study of urban network contact. The research findings are as follows: (1) The industry connectivity network has a distinct single-center characteristic, forming a multi-level network structure with Wuhan as the absolute core and Xiangyang and Yichang as the secondary centers. However, the dominant role of the two secondary central cities in their respective urban agglomerations needs to be further strengthened. In contrast, the information connectivity network is relatively more balanced, with a more pronounced "multi-center" network pattern of "Wuhan-Xiangyang-Yichang", and even multiple small and medium-sized cities have a strong degree of network participation. In addition, from the numerical value of connection intensity, information connection has exceeded industrial connection, reflecting the new characteristics of connection media in the information age. (2) The vertical industry connection shows an economic-promoting effect on small and medium-sized cities, that is, the industrial connection with higher or lower level cities are more likely to form a scale-borrowing effect, which is conducive to the development of small and medium-sized cities. However, the horizontal industry connection at the same level is not conducive to the development of small and medium-sized cities, showing a competitive relationship and forming an agglomeration shadow effect. In contrast, the information connectivity network is beneficial to the development of small and medium-sized cities in both vertical and horizontal directions, promoting the generation of scale-borrowing effects. (3) Both the industry connectivity network and the information connectivity network have a positive promoting effect on urban economic development. The mediation effects of the three influencing mechanisms have been verified, among which, the mechanism of urban functional division mainly affects the economic growth effect of the industry connectivity network, while the mechanism of urban development vitality and the mechanism of urban economic resilience mainly affect the economic growth effect of the information connectivity network. Based on this, Hubei Province should create an industrial division system dominated by Wuhan, with Xiangyang and Yichang as deputy centers, and multi-party collaborative participation, laying a solid foundation for the continuous and healthy development of the regional economy. At the same time, it is necessary to further strengthen the construction and maintenance of the information connectivity network between cities, promote the smooth and active flow of factors between cities in Hubei Province through the construction of smart cities in various regions and the unblocking of channels for innovation exchange and talent flow between cities, and accumulate basic strength for the high-quality development of cities. |
