| 本文以古罗马城市的公共生活为研究对象，指出繁荣的公共生活是古罗马文明的核心，城市通过公共生活的供给凝聚人与人的关系，形成了强烈的城邦意识和爱国主义精神； 古罗马城市大规模的公共生活所产生的城邦意识甚至比今日发达的商品社会中对城市的爱或认同感更为强烈。古罗马的城市发展留给人们一个根本性的问题：城市繁荣的本质到底是空间的繁荣还是公共生活的繁荣？ |

| With the research on the public life of ancient Rome, this paper points out the flourishing urban public life is the core of ancient Roman civilization, which strengthened the interpersonal re-lationships and inspired patriotism---even much stronger than the feeling of identity to city in com-mercial society of today. so,the history of ancient Rome has left us with a fundamental question; archi-tecture or public life, which is the essence of urban prosperity? |
