Abstract:
Against the background of intensifying global climate change and frequent occurrence of extreme precipitation events, enhancing the resilience of traditional villages against flooding has become an important topic in the study of human habitat. In the process of coping with floods over a long period of time, the traditional villages in Huizhou have formed a systematic wisdom of flood-adaptive siting, which profoundly embodies the ecological concept of harmonious coexistence between human beings and nature. Based on field research and historical documents, this paper systematically analyses the flood prevention siting pattern of Huizhou traditional villages from the three levels of "watershed pattern-village morphology-site space", and reveals its integration of fengshui "water observation" culture and geographic environment laws. "The study reveals the resilience design method that integrates Feng Shui culture and geographic environment, and explores its scientific value in disaster avoidance, morphological adjustment and ecological buffer. The study shows that the traditional villages in Huizhou have achieved the systematic objectives of optimising the disaster-conceiving environment, regulating the disaster-causing factors and strengthening the disaster-bearing body through the spatial strategies of "balancing the trunks and branches, avoiding the water by living in a high place, and encircling the curved water". On this basis, this paper proposes that the modern transformation of traditional flood control wisdom should be promoted from the three dimensions of "spatial gene identification-modern technology integration-community mechanism activation", in order to provide a theoretical basis and practical path for the contemporary urban and rural resilience planning and sustainable development of mountain villages. The study aims to provide theoretical basis and practical path for contemporary urban and rural resilience planning and sustainable development of mountain villages.
